The first festival of Van Don cuisine wrapped up yesterday, ending five festive days in the island district.
At the closing ceremony, the organizing board granted certificates of merit and prizes to teams participating in the competition for the best displayer of local food and the best cook for oyster dishes.
The five-day culinary event attracted the participation of 40 booths displaying typical dishes of Quang Ninh province as well as its products from the “One Commune – One Product” (OCOP) program.
During the event, festival-goers had an opportunity to admire the cooking performances of local chefs, saw a 170kg grouper fish, and attended an artistic exchange.
As part of Quang Ninh province’s tourism promotion activities, the Van Don Cuisine Festival not merely made a significant contribution to popularizing special dishes of Van Don but also acted as an opportunity for organizers, tourism operators, service providers, and seafood procession companies in the locality to meet and introduce their products to domestic and foreign visitors.
