Laboratory at Bac Luan II Bridge recognised for analytical capabilities

Vietnam’s Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has recently announced the results of its assessment of laboratories authorised by the General Administration of Customs of China to test for Auramine O and cadmium. Accordingly, the laboratory operated by Tan Dai Duong Inspection and Testing Centre at Bac Luan II Bridge in Mong Cai 1 Ward has been officially recognised for its capability to analyse cadmium and alkaline Auramine O.

The facility is one of only five laboratories in Vietnam to receive such recognition and is authorised to conduct testing for fruit exports to China.

Located at Bac Luan II Bridge Border Gate within Mong Cai International Border Gate, the laboratory is equipped with modern testing systems and operates in accordance with international standards, meeting the increasingly stringent requirements of import markets. It is capable of accurately analysing a wide range of food safety and product quality indicators, including pesticide residues, antibiotic residues, toxins, bacteria, viruses, heavy metals and Auramine O substances in food products.

The recognition will help businesses take a more proactive approach to quality control before export while shortening testing times, reducing the risk of shipment rejections and facilitating customs clearance for agricultural products through Mong Cai Border Gate. It is also expected to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in the Chinese market.
