The island district of Co To has launched tourism stimulus programs which inevitably involve a variety of novel and appealing tourism products and services.
As planned, Co To is going to host various exciting cultural and sports events such as “Co To welcomes summer” programs, a series of activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s visiting the island, a running tournament through beautiful landscapes of Co To, street festivals, a festival of unicorn, lion and dragon dancing, a tour guide competition, exhibitions of OCOP booths, etc.
The consistent orientation for the development of Co To island in the coming time is to fully tap its potentials and advantages, seizing opportunities and attracting investment to create strong growth and economic restructuring. In terms of tourism, the island determines to standardize all tourist activities, develop professional and high-end tourist products in conjunction with environmental preservation.
The local government has already encouraged businesses to offer discounted products and services to lure more tourists. By way of illustration, the 3-star hotel of Tuan Vu has lauched an accommodation discount of 10-20%, Co To Golden hotel has provided visitors an island-tour package of VND 650 thousand per person in one day and a full package within 3 days and 2 nights worth VND 2.1 billion, etc.
Regarding transport services, some passenger carriers such as Ka Long and Quang Minh has promoted new services.
Co To, in a long run, also targets to implement many activities to attract tourists all year around, especially in the low-season periods of autumn and winter, and pay much attention to promoting the images of this destination.
The district has currently deployed a series of solutions to expand tourism space such as building new products in potential areas such as Thanh Lan island, Co To con island, promoting night economy, especially at walking streets.
In the context of complicated Covid-19, Co To has fully conformed to defined regulations on the prevention of Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring locals and tourists’ safety and health.
