On August 23, in Sa Pa Ward, Lao Cai Province, the 12th Conference on Economic Corridor Cooperation among Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh of Vietnam and Yunnan of China featured thematic discussions on investment and trade; transport and logistics; culture, tourism, education and people-to-people exchanges.
In investment and trade, delegates agreed to strengthen information sharing on markets, quality standards and product traceability, while encouraging investment in logistics, processing industries, high-tech agriculture, green industries, the digital economy and tourism.
In transport and logistics, delegates identified connectivity as a foundation for strengthening economic linkages. In particular, the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway was identified as a strategic link connecting Lao Cai Border Gate with Hanoi, the seaport systems of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, and Yunnan's railway network.
In culture, tourism, education and people-to-people exchanges, delegates proposed developing regional and cross-border tourism products, expanding exchanges among students and teachers, and strengthening cooperation in human resource training.
