The commune of Binh Duong in Dong Trieu district, adjacent to Chi Linh city of Hai Duong province, was put under lockdown starting 12:00 noon today to fight the Covid-19 outbreak.
The provincial Party Secretary cum the Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky, directed the People’s Committe to impose a lockdown in Binh Duong commune from 12:00 noon today after this place witnessed an increase in the number of Covid-19 infected cases.
Other communes of Dong Trieu including Thuy An, Nguyen Hue, Viet Dan, An Sinh are under strict control and can be placed on lockdown when necessary.
Residents were asked to stay at home, but they could go out to buy food, medicine, hospital or go to factories and essential services that were operating. All schools, public activities, entertainment facilities, any events with crowd and nonessential service activities were halted.
Previously, the Chi Linh city of Hai Duong province was ordered to lock down for 21 days and public transport out of the city to halted and mass testing to begin.
On January 27 and 28, after detecting the first two cases in Quang Ninh and Hai Duong, local authorities have quickly zoned off and identified 72 cases at Viet Nam Poyun Electronics Co., Ltd. in Cong Hoa commune, Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province and 10 others at the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province.
The airport was ordered closed from 12:00 and a lockdown zone at the area of patient No. 1553’s house was set up at Group 1, Zone 6, Hong Ha ward, Ha Long city yesterday.
