To commemorate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Co To Island (May 9, 1961 – May 9, 2026), the Co To Special Zone will host the Summer Culture, Sports and Tourism Week 2026 from May 6 to 9, featuring a series of vibrant cultural, sports and tourism activities.
As part of the week, a wide range of distinctive cultural and tourism events will be held, including a photo exhibition showcasing Co To’s scenic beauty, an OCOP fair introducing signature local products, a beach-cleaning campaign themed “Joining hands for a blue sea”, traditional folk games, a kite festival titled “Co To – Soaring with the blue sea”, and a bicycle parade around the island. Notably, an art programme titled “Green Co To – A symphony of aspiration”, will take place on the evening of May 8 at the Central Square.
Through these activities, the Co To Special Zone aims to honour its cultural and historical heritage while promoting its image as a green, clean and beautiful island destination. The event is also expected to stimulate tourism demand, contribute to local socio-economic growth, and further build Co To into a more civilised, friendly and attractive destination.
