In autumn, Yen Tu takes on a tranquil and contemplative beauty, becoming a magnet for visitors exploring Quang Ninh. Improved connectivity with Ha Long Bay, together with a series of distinctive cultural events, is bringing a “new breeze” to the heritage site, drawing increasing numbers of visitors to explore and experience Yen Tu.
Autumn and winter are also the seasons when visitors come to Yen Tu not only to pay their respects and admire the scenery, but also to seek a retreat enriched by the depth of local culture. At Legacy Yen Tu – MGallery, this experience extends beyond the architecture to traditional cuisine, folk cultural activities and the slow rhythm of life amid the mountains and forests. From tea tasting and listening to traditional singing to learning about local customs and taking part in folk games and activities, each experience offers visitors a more intimate, memorable and inspiring way to discover Yen Tu.
Yen Tu’s distinctive experiences are being refreshed through new itineraries tailored to individual visitors. Tours such as “Sunrise on Đong Pagoda”, “The Happiness of Coming Home”, “Exploring the Mysteries of the Ancient Palace” and “Returning to the Splendour of the Past” offer different ways to discover Yen Tu. Visitors can watch the sunrise in the mountains, learn about history, experience traditional culture or simply relax and immerse themselves in the natural surroundings.
At the same time, efforts are being stepped up to refresh the visitor experience through a series of cultural, artistic and sporting events. The “Yen Tu – Meditative Autumn Colours 2026” programme adds a distinctive touch to the season, with cultural, spiritual and artistic activities held amid the heritage landscape. Other events, including the “Yen Tu Chess King” Chinese chess tournament, the 2026 Yen Tu Heritage Marathon themed “Touching Heritage” and the 2026 Yen Tu Ultra Trail themed “Exploring Heritage – Spreading Quintessence”, are also opening up new ways to experience Yen Tu.
In particular, tourism businesses are working to strengthen links between the two World Heritage Sites of Yen Tu and Ha Long Bay, creating an impressive “Heritage Journey”. One of the first products to put this approach into practice is a three-day, two-night itinerary developed by Tung Lam Development JSC, combining a stay at Legacy Yen Tu with a cruise experience aboard Paradise Vietnam. Instead of treating the two destinations as separate products, the itinerary creates a seamless journey: beginning with the sea and islands, visitors explore the landscapes and services of Ha Long Bay before moving into the mountains and forests to discover the history and Truc Lam Zen culture and enjoy a retreat in Yen Tu. This allows visitors to experience the natural beauty, culture and people of Quang Ninh’s heritage landscape in a more comprehensive way.
Alongside this itinerary, Quang Ninh’s tourism sector is gradually expanding connectivity across the region’s heritage system. The “Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu Heritage Passport” programme is being developed to connect destinations associated with Ha Long Bay; the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac World Heritage Site; the Bạch Đằng historical site; the Quang Ninh Museum; and traditional craft villages. Meanwhile, Yen Tu Ward is also studying options to connect the Yen Tu Monument and Landscape Complex with Yen Trung Lake and Khe Song – Thac Bac, among other destinations, to enrich visitor experiences and create more opportunities for local communities to provide services and introduce their culture, cuisine and local products.
