On October 7, at Phuong Nam Industrial Cluster in Yen Tu ward, Quang Ninh Paper Joint Stock Company broke ground on a high-tech packaging paper manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 140,000 tonnes, marking a new step in attracting investment and developing manufacturing and processing industries in Yen Tu ward.
The project has total investment of VND 1.496 trillion and is being developed on 26,340 m2 of land, with total installed capacity of 140,000 tonnes of products per year. Under the plan, construction begins in October 2026, with investment and installation scheduled for completion in December 2027. Earlier, in July 2025, Quang Ninh Paper Joint Stock Company also invested in a tissue paper manufacturing plant in Yen Tu ward with an annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes and total investment of VND 867 billion. With modern technology, large scale and a high investment rate, the two projects can be regarded as significant to the development of Phuong Nam Industrial Cluster and the socio-economic development of Yen Tu ward, while also demonstrating the company’s confidence in the local investment environment.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, leaders of Yen Tu ward asked Quang Ninh Paper Joint Stock Company to concentrate resources and ensure construction quality, safety and progress, while treating environmental protection as a requirement throughout the construction and operation phases. The company was also requested to strictly comply with environmental regulations and commitments; continuously operate waste treatment facilities in accordance with prescribed procedures; and control dust, emissions, wastewater, noise, odours and other factors that could affect residents’ health and daily lives.
