The information was released at the online meeting between EATOF secretariat and Quang Ninh province on Oct. 15.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of EATOF Secretary-General IlSub Jeong from Gangwon province of the Republic of Korea.
The two sides exchanged a numer of issues related to the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic in Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Gangwon province (Korea) and altogether agreed on the EATOF’s decision on postponing the organisation of the 17th EATOF General Assembly in Quang Ninh province from 2020 to 2021 due to the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic.
They also had a thorough discussion about the current status and tourism development trends of Quang Ninh and Gangwon provinces in the new back-to-normal period after Covid-19.
Quang Ninh Department of Tourism proposed EATOF secretariat to encourage member provinces to promote their free sharing of tourism information concerning other members at various events they host, actively support multidimensional tourism promotion among member provinces on EATOF's official media and member provinces’s channels.
In preparation for the forthcoming EATOF event, Quang Ninh also requested for other members’ support for the promotion of the message "Quang Ninh-Vietnam Tourism: Safe - Attractive - Responsible".
As planned, there are not many changes in the content of the 17th EATOF General Assembly in Quang Ninh in 2021 in comparison with the defined one for 2020. All the content added is related to the exchange of experiences in preventing and handling arisen problems during and after Covid-19 period among members of EATOF.
The specific schedule will be announced when the disease situations are put under control and international travel is allowed by governments.
Quang Ninh Province suggested the Secretariat stimulating the participation of member provinces in the upcoming event. Particularly, the 17th draft Joint Declaration should be sent to Vietnam soon in order to fulfill all procedures in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law.
The paricipants also gave a proposal on enhancing cooperation of EATOF members’ media organizations.
The EATOF secretariat agreed to promote the formation of bilateral tours and air routes beteen Quang Ninh and other member provinces via the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province after the COVID-19 situation is effectively controlled.
