The arrival of successive high-end cruise ships carrying thousands of international visitors at Ha Long International Cruise Port in the early days of the year has underscored positive momentum of this high-potential market segment.
According to travel operators, cruise lines serving the Chinese market – one of Quang Ninh’s key international source markets – have recorded positive growth in both the number of cruise calls and passenger volumes in 2026. The Europe–US market has remained stable, with cruise schedules comparable to previous years. This year, Ha Long International Cruise Port is expected to receive around 90 cruise ships, bringing approximately 100,000 international visitors to Quang Ninh, an increase of about 15 percent compared to last year. Stakeholders across the tourism supply chain, including travel services, port operators and transport providers are proactively refreshing tourism products and enhancing service quality to attract this important visitor segment, contributing to Quang Ninh’s target of welcoming 5.2 million international tourist arrivals in 2026.
