After more than 35 years of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), Quang Ninh province has emerged as one of Vietnam’s leading localities in attracting foreign investment capital. Beyond the increase in scale, FDI has gradually affirmed its role as a key driver of the province’s economic growth, economic restructuring, and international integration.
Quang Ninh province attracted its first FDI project in 1991. To date, the province is home to 237 valid FDI projects from 20 countries and territories worldwide, with total registered capital of nearly USD 16 billion. In the first four months of 2026 alone, Quang Ninh attracted USD 222.25 million in FDI capital. In recent years, Quang Ninh province has consistently ranked among the country’s leading localities in FDI attraction. Specifically, the province ranked third nationwide in both 2022 and 2023, and fourth in 2024. These figures clearly reflect the growing appeal as an investment environment.
With the right strategic direction and a methodical approach, Quang Ninh province is well-positioned to sustain its momentum and further establish FDI as a major driver for socio-economic development in the new stage.
