In the first eight months of 2026, Quang Ninh City attracted nearly USD 1.13 billion in FDI, with more than half coming from newly licensed projects. During the same period, processing and manufacturing grew by more than 31%, showing the increasingly prominent role of the production sector in the city’s growth picture.
Advantages in location, transport connectivity, seaports, border gates and the industrial park system provide a foundation for Quang Ninh to continue attracting international investors. However, infrastructure alone is not enough to attract and retain high-quality capital. The time and cost involved in completing procedures, access to public services and the level of support from local authorities also directly influence business decisions.
Therefore, alongside preparing land and industrial park infrastructure, Quang Ninh continues to accelerate digitalisation, administrative reform and improvements in business services. When external resources are connected with the capacity of domestic enterprises, FDI can create new momentum for processing and manufacturing and for Quang Ninh’s transition to a new growth model.
