As part of Quang Ninh’s marine economic development strategy, high-tech aquaculture has been prioritized to drive green growth and maximize the value of marine resources and promoting green growth.
The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has recently approved the investment plan for a concentrated aquaculture project in the Co To Special Zone, covering more than 200 hectares of sea area. This high-tech marine farming model will utilize 100% eco-friendly floating materials and modern cage systems. The project will employ multi-trophic aquaculture technology to cultivate high-value species such as marine fish, squid and shellfish, with an estimated annual yield of around 670 tonnes of seafood. This initiative is expected to boost both productivity and product quality while fostering stronger linkages across production, processing and distribution chain.
