The Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is Quang Ninh's first automobile manufacturing facility. Built on a 36.5-hectare site, it has a designed annual production capacity of 120,000 vehicles. It is also Southeast Asia's first Škoda automobile manufacturing plant, equipped with advanced production technologies and rigorous quality control systems that meet the exacting standards of Škoda Auto, the more than 130-year-old European automobile brand under the Volkswagen Group. Since commencing operations in March 2025, the factory has introduced two models to the Vietnamese market: the Škoda Kushaq and the Škoda Slavia.
The production process at Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is designed around a lean manufacturing model, enhancing operational efficiency while ensuring rigorous quality control at every stage.
The welding shop is equipped with a series of automated robots applying state-of-the-art seamless laser welding technology.
The welding workshop is equipped with robotic systems, seamless laser welding technology, and 3D inspection using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to ensure the precision and structural integrity of each vehicle body structure. The paint workshop employs Dürr's Ro-Dip E coating technology, combined with advanced painting and filtration systems, to improve coating efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance the corrosion resistance of vehicle bodies. The assembly workshop incorporates production technologies widely adopted by leading European automakers, including Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, ensuring the precision and quality of every vehicle leaving the production line.
After completing production and inspection, Škoda models meeting European standards are released to the market, ready for delivery to customers.
Looking ahead, the factory will continue to expand the application of advanced technologies, accelerate digital transformation, and strengthen quality control systems across its manufacturing operations.
The metal and plastic product manufacturing project of EVA Quang Ninh Precision Industry Co., Ltd. at Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park commenced operations in 2025. With a total investment of more than VND 1.358 trillion and a site area of 60,000 square metres, the project produces, processes, and assembles metal components, plastic and rubber products, moulds, and precision parts for electronics, household appliances, office equipment, and a wide range of other manufacturing industries.
