Driven by proactive and decisive leadership and close attention to practical developments, Quang Ninh's socio-economic performance remained stable and continued to develop in line with the province's growth scenario during the first seven months of the year, laying a solid foundation for stronger economic growth in the remaining months of 2026. The province's Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased by 17.52% year on year, while the service sector benefited from the peak summer tourism season. Tourist arrivals reached 15.1 million, up 3% from the same period last year, generating more than VND 44 trillion in tourism revenue, an increase of 21%. State budget revenue totalled VND 68.282 trillion, representing an 89% year-on-year increase.

A major milestone was reached as the Party Central Committee approved in principle the establishment of Quang Ninh City, while the Government endorsed the proposal to establish the centrally governed city, paving the way for its official establishment later this year.
