On the afternoon of July 7, at the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, the Quang Ninh Border Guard Command announced the establishment and officially launched the Foreign Affairs Public Outreach Team. The pilot initiative aims to innovate public outreach through digital transformation, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy and contributing to the building of a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and prosperous border area.
Selected for pilot implementation at the Mong Cai International Border Gate, a key international border gate between Vietnam and China, the Foreign Affairs Public Outreach Team consists of representatives from the border guard force, customs, health quarantine authorities, local authorities, and travel agencies. The initiative will focus onraising public awareness of laws and regulations on border management, immigration, and import-export activities; assisting residents and businesses in complying with relevant regulations; facilitating lawful cross-border trade; and deepening solidarity and friendship between the people of Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China).
The initiative also promotes the application of digital technologies in foreign affairs public outreach through QR codes, digital platforms, social media, multilingual communication videos, and electronic information materials. These tools provide official information and enable residents and businesses to access regulations on immigration and import-export procedures more conveniently, thereby improving the effectiveness of administrative reform and contributing to the development of a modern and civilised border gate.
