Quang Ninh launches new campaign to prevent spread of Covid-19

In the context of Covid-19 pandamic’s complicated developments worldwide and nationwide, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has issued Directive No. 09-CT / TU on the implementation of a new campaign against Covid-19 spreading in the new situation.

Accordingly, all Quang Ninh inhabitants going out of the province during the holiday have to medically report and are encouraged to do paid SARS-CoV-2 testing when coming back.

State officials, especially, have to undergo mandatory SARS-CoV-2 testing without cost sharing before going to work.

Workers from the Covid-19 affected provinces of Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Yen Bai and some Southern provinces have to apply for medical reports and do the testing in group before May 5.

The provincial police are supposed to direct the grassroots police to preside over and coordinate with community-based Covid-19 teams to draw up lists of people returning  the province for the purpose of control and supervision and tighten immigration controls.

As the pandemic has evolved complicatedly, the Ministry of Health encouraged people to strictly implement its 5K campaign: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration), saying these measures are decisive factor to reduce community transmissions.

As of 6:00 am on Tuesday, Viet Nam confirmed 2,985 COVID-19 infection cases, including 2,549 recoveries and 35 fatalities.

The Southeast Asian nation is experiencing resurgence of community transmissions after a Vietnamese man returning from Japan and a Chinese national tested positive for COVID-19 after completing 14-day quarantine period.
