Quang Ninh and Hai Phong strengthen cooperation in conserving the World Heritage site

On July 10, Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong City held a coordination conference on the management, conservation, and promotion of the values of the Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage Site in preparation for the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee, which will be held in the Republic of Korea later this month.

At the conference, the two sides agreed to continue effectively implementing their existing cooperation commitments, with priority given to protecting natural resources, the environment, and biodiversity to preserve the Outstanding Universal Value of the World Heritage site.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong called on Quang Ninh and Hai Phong to continue working closely together to implement UNESCO's recommendations. He also urged the two localities to fully prepare the necessary documents, materials, and other requirements for participation in the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee.
