On April 23, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Ninh Wind Power Plant 1 project was held in Khu Cai, Hoanh Bo Ward.
With a total investment of VND 7.3 trillion, this marks Quang Ninh’s first wind power project. The project is being implemented in Hoanh Bo Ward and Thong Nhat Commune, with a designed capacity of 200MW, including 32 modern wind turbines, a 220kV substation, and a synchronised grid connection system.
The plant is expected to become operational by the end of 2028, generating around 0.6 billion kWh of electricity annually. It will contribute to national energy security and directly supporting greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. The project is also expected to create around 100 jobs, with average monthly salaries of VND 15–20 million, and contribute an estimated VND 80–100 billion per year to the local budget.
