At the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage site , on April 19, the Quang Ninh provincial Buddhist Sangha held a grand memorial ceremony to commemorate the 696th anniversary of the passing into Nirvana of the Second Patriarch of Truc Lam, Phap Loa (1330–2026).
In a solemn atmosphere, thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists and visitors offered incense and prayers for peace and prosperity, while reflecting on the life and legacy of Phap Loa, the eminent successor of Tran Nhan Tong. The ceremony is a meaningful spiritual event that helps promote the image of Yen Tu as a World Cultural Heritage site and attract large numbers of visitors during the peak summer tourism season.
