On April 9, the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board and the People’s Committee of Van Don Special Zone held a meeting to sign a coordination agreement on the management, protection, and promotion of Bai Tu Long National Park, an ASEAN Heritage Park.
Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate in safeguarding and sustainably developing the park’s natural resources, biodiversity, environment, landscapes, cultural and historical values. They will also collaborate on land-use planning and construction management in both core and buffer zones of the national park, ensuring alignment with the overall master plan of Van Don Economic Zone and related planning frameworks.
Recently, the renowned US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler named Bai Tu Long Bay among Southeast Asia’s seven most remarkable natural wonders, ranking it third and making it the only representative from Viet Nam on the list. The signing of this coordination agreement is expected to further enhance the effective conservation and promotion of the park’s values, contributing to sustainable tourism development and local socio-economic growth.
