Around 700 tonnes of goods worth about VND 200 billion were cleared through Bac Luan II Bridge over the weekend - the first two days of a pilot program allowing weekend customs clearance at the Mong Cai – Dongxing international border gate.
Thanks to close coordination among border authorities in charge of inspection, supervision and customs procedures, vehicles carrying goods were able to pass through the border gate quickly and conveniently. The cleared goods were diverse, including agricultural produce, fresh seafood and fruits, which require strict conditions regarding transportation time and storage conditions.
The pilot weekend customs clearance at the Mong Cai–Dongxing international border gate (Bac Luan II Bridge area) represents a concrete step in implementing cooperation agreements between Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). The initiative will serve as a basis for both sides to further study and reach consensus on official implementation in the future, thereby helping promote cross-border trade, enhance import–export efficiency and attract more businesses to carry out customs procedures via Bac Luan II Bridge.
