On June 8, in Bai Chay Ward, the Office of the National Civil Defence Steering Committee, in coordination with Quang Ninh Province and the Oregon National Guard of the United States, launched the 2026 Disaster Management Engagement Activity (DMEA).
Against the backdrop of increasingly severe global climate change, countries worldwide are facing growing risks posed by natural disasters, emergencies and catastrophes. Strengthening international cooperation and the sharing experience are therefore regarded as essential measures to enhance professional capacity in command and coordination, as well as the operational readiness and rapid response capabilities of search and rescue forces.
During the week-long programme, participants will exchange expertise on improving the effectiveness of early warning systems and integrating advanced technologies into disaster management activities.
