Quang Ninh’s traffic police have planned a range of measures to mitigate traffic jams and ensure traffic safety as the Lunar New Year approaches.
Since December 15, 2021, the traffic police at all levels across the province have launched intensive campaigns to ensure traffic safety and social order during the New Year, Lunar New Year, and early spring festivals in 2022.
Currently, Quang Ninh’s traffic police has enhanced patrols on traffic routes and check traffic vehicles to ensure traffic safety and prevent crimes to prevent traffic congestion and accidents when Tet is drawing near.
Top priority will be given to raising public awareness of traffic safety. Strict penalties will be imposed on drink-drivers, and those who run through red lights, weave between moving vehicles or zigzag through traffic, exceed the speed limit, or violate the regulations on parking or picking up and dropping off passengers during peak days.
More effective measures will be taken to increase checks over transportation activities of road transport service providers, and deal with overloaded vehicles.
