Quang Ninh has recently emerged as one of Vietnam’s most exciting holiday destinations. From the very first days of the New Year, the province recorded a surge in visitors eager to explore, relax, and celebrate in a dynamic festive atmosphere.
Particularly popular were travel experiences that seamlessly blend iconic sightseeing, local cultural discovery, authentic cuisine, and countdown events to usher in the New Year, allowing visitors to enjoy a full spectrum of experiences in a single journey.
Local authorities, tourism businesses, and the provincial tourism association have proactively introduced a wide range of new tourism products, services, and promotional campaigns since September 2025. These initiatives, combined with large-scale cultural and entertainment events, were designed to enrich visitor experiences during the New Year and the 2026 Lunar New Year holidays, positioning Quang Ninh as a year-round destination of choice.
A standout highlight was the spectacular art program “Quang Ninh - Welcome New Year 2026”, themed “Discipline and unity - Shaping the future”. Held on the evening of December 31, 2025, the event captivated nearly 50,000 spectators at October 30 Square in Ha Long. Over three immersive hours, audiences enjoyed performances by renowned artists and bands, brought to life through a creative fusion of live music, electronic soundscapes, and state-of-the-art lighting and visual technologies. The release of thousands of free tickets online helped both residents and visitors easily join the celebrations, creating a joyful, inclusive countdown to the New Year.
The excitement surrounding these events served as a powerful catalyst for the tourism sector. Hotels, resorts, cruise operators, and travel agencies rolled out attractive offers, from discounted room rates and all-inclusive tour packages to value-added experiences. Major attractions such as Sun World offered special promotions, while thousands of complimentary event tickets were distributed to guests using tourism services across the province, further enhancing visitor satisfaction.
Throughout the holiday period, Quang Ninh also came alive with traditional festivals, cultural rituals, folk games, calligraphy performances, ethnic costume exhibitions, and OCOP product showcases. These activities not only enriched the festive atmosphere but also allowed travelers to connect more deeply with local heritage and community life.
Beyond its well-known coastal attractions, Quang Ninh’s rural and border areas proved equally appealing. Cool, dry early-year weather created ideal conditions for sightseeing and photography, drawing visitors to flower gardens, mountain landscapes, and peaceful villages. Many travelers chose these serene destinations to escape the crowds, breathe in fresh air, and welcome the New Year in harmony with nature.
The extended New Year holiday encouraged longer stays, generating impressive results. In just a few days, the province welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors, with international arrivals showing particularly positive growth. A memorable moment came on the very first day of 2026, when a luxury cruise ship docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port, bringing thousands of international guests to Quảng Ninh as the year’s first travelers, an auspicious start that underscored the province’s growing global appeal.
With this strong momentum, Quang Ninh enters 2026 full of confidence and ambition. By continuing to diversify tourism products, enhance service quality, and promote its destinations creatively and sustainably, the province is well on track to offer visitors ever more distinctive, high-end, and memorable experiences, making every journey to Quảng Ninh not just a trip, but a celebration.
