On April 19, the “Conquering Phu Van Peak” mountain climbing race took place at the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage site. The event was jointly organized by Yen Tu Ward People’s Commitee, the Quang Ninh provincial journalists association, and relevant agencies, aiming at stimulating tourism and promoting the image of Yen Tu.
The race attracted nearly 1,200 domestic and international athletes competing in 5 km and 8 km distance categories. Along the mountainous route, participants conquered natural rocky slopes and passed iconic landmarks such as the ancient pine road, Hue Quang Tower Garden, Hoa Yen Pagoda, and the statue of King-Buddha Tran Nhan Tong.
The event marked the opening of the “Yen Tu Summer 2026” festival, which aims to attract more than 2.3 million visitors. Held for the second time, the race promotes the spirit of physical training in line with Ho Chi Minh’s example, while encouraging heritage preservation and boosting tourism demand.
