On July 2, the 2026 Grandmaster and International Master (GM, IM) Chess Tournament officially opened at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center.
The tournament is jointly organised by the Vietnam Chess Federation and the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This year's event has attracted 36 players from 15 countries and territories. The tournament provides players with opportunities to earn international Elo rating points, achieve international title norms, and enhance their professional skills through high-level competition. The tournament will run until July 7.
