Thorough Preparations for the 2026 Yen Tu Spring Festival

To introduce, honor and further promote the outstanding universal values of the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage site, Quang Ninh Province will host a series of distinctive cultural, festival and artistic events during the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026. The highlight will be the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Yen Tu Spring Festival. Preparations are now in their final stages to ensure the events are delivered safely, professionally and on a large scale.

The spring program will feature a wide range of activities, including the 2026 Yen Tu Spring Festival Opening Ceremony; the “Yen Tu – Source of Wisdom” meditation retreat; a special art performance; an exhibition on the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Buddhist tradition; an OCOP product fair combined with a regional food festival; and immersive cultural under the theme “Heritage Spring –Tet Celebration in Nuong Village”.

Visitors can look forward to horse parades, dragon and lion dances, traditional martial arts performances, folk art shows and ethnic musical showcases, as well as a variety of traditional folk games. The opening ceremony of the Yen Tu Spring Festival is scheduled on February 26 (the 10th day of the first lunar month). On the same day, a large-scale a special art performance, expected to draw around 10,000 audiences, will trace the historical, cultural and philosophical journey of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen tradition, portraying Yen Tu as a spiritual symbol of the Vietnamese nation.

During a recent inspection of preparations for the Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh urged relevant agencies to accelerate their work, uphold strict standards of environmental sanitation and public security, and ensure a safe, convenient experience for visitors and pilgrims. She emphasized that the festival should be organized in aprofessional and comprehensive manner, reflecting the distinctive identity of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect while further promoting the outstanding universal values of the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage site to both domestic and international visitors.

Following Vice Chairwoman’s directive, from February 20 (the fourth day of the Lunar New Year) to December 31, 2026, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company will offer free parking for cars and motorbikes at Ha Kieu parking area in Yen Tu Ward.
