With more than 30,000 artefacts and exhibition spaces dedicated to history, nature, the coal industry, ethnic cultures and the theme “President Ho Chi Minh and Quang Ninh”, the provincial museum offers visitors a vivid and accessible journey through local history.
In recent years, the museum has introduced a variety of models for history and tradition education. Beginning with the “Online History Class” programme launched during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, its educational activities have expanded through initiatives such as “I Love History” and “History Class”. These programmes are closely linked to local education, combining artefact tours with interactive games, traditional craft experiences and digital technology applications. As a result, history is presented in a more engaging way, enabling students to acquire knowledge through hands-on experiences and emotional engagement.
The effectiveness of this approach is reflected in its growing popularity among students. In the 2023 - 2024 academic year, the first year the programmes were organised on a regular basis, around 20,000 students from schools across the province visited the Quang Ninh Museum and Library. Traditional education programmes alone, including the “I Love History” Club and “History Class”, attracted more than 2,500 student participants.

Held on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from 5pm to 10pm, the activities offer new experiences for pupils, students and visitors.
Along with these initiatives, the “Reading Among the Wonders” space, featuring more than 2,200 books on children’s literature, history and culture, life skills and literary works. It also hosts storytelling sessions, drawing activities, fairy-tale role-playing, exchanges and interactive experiences, making it an attractive channel through which young people can engage with history and culture.
