Ship of world’s largest container shipping company docks at Cai Lan port

The Cai Lan International Container Terminal (CICT) on September 14 welcomed the Marshall Islands-flagged Synergy Busan with a loading capacity of neary 51,000 tonnes. This is the second pilot container ship of Maersk Lines to dock in the port.

Previously, as part of the province’s pilot program to open international container ship routes through Cai Lan port, MAERSK LINE's container ship was the first pilot one dock at the port. As many as 1,215 containers of goods were unloaded and 288 containers were loaded on board within 20 hours and the ship left Cai Lan port safely.

Unloading 2,000 containers and loading 150 containers on Synergy Busan ship were all done within the afternoon of September 15 so that the ship is able to leave Cai Lan on the same day.

It is expected that one more container ship of MAERSK LINE will dock at the port to handle cargo and, on that basis, this shipping company will propose more trial ships through Cai Lan port in the coming time.
