Renewing tourism promotion and marketing

Along with the rapid development of digital technology, online tourism promotion has become emerging trend. Therefore, Quang Ninh has proactively strengthened communications on digital platforms to reach a wide range of domestic and international visitors.

Images of Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu, Co To and Bai Tu Long National Park have been widely introduced through promotional videos, television features and multimedia publications. Notably, the province has cooperated with foreign partners to produce promotional programmes on the international television channel CNN, combining tourism promotion with the introduction of its advantages and potential for investment and trade. Introduction of promotional videos on reputable global media platforms has helped Quang Ninh’s tourism image reach millions of viewers worldwide.

At the same time, the provincial tourism sector has stepped up promotion on digital platforms and social media. A number of creative communication campaigns have been implemented, contributing to refreshing the image of the heritage destination. The launch of a contest to design a logo and slogan for Quang Ninh is also seen as a step towards building a modern and signature tourism brand profile in line with digital-era promotion trends.

Beyond traditional communication channels, Quang Ninh has also leveraged the wide reach of cinema to promote tourism. In January 2026, the Indian film Silaa selected the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site - Ha Long Bay and several locations on Tuan Chau Island as filming settings for a romantic action movie with a budget of around USD 4 million and a production crew of nearly 100 members. Once released, the film is expected to bring the natural beauty, culture and people of Quang Ninh closer to millions of international audiences, particularly in the Indian market.

To further expand access to tourism markets and engage directly with partners, Quang Ninh has proactively promoted its cultural and tourism image at international events. In October 2025, a provincial art troupe performed at the 60th Seorak Cultural Festival in Sokcho, Gangwon, South Korea. This large-scale traditional cultural attracted numerous visitors and local residents. In early 2026, within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum in Cebu, a Quang Ninh delegation organised a series of surveys and tourism promotion activities for Philippine travel businesses.

Another key measure prioritised by Quang Ninh has been inviting international famtrip delegations to survey and experience destinations firsthand. This is considered an effective promotional approach, offering travel companies direct insight into the province’s tourism potential. Most recently, a famtrip delegation from Russia’s Ural Tourism Association conducted a survey of Ha Long Bay and visited Titov Island, one of the prominent sites within the World Natural Heritage site. The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation to strengthen promotion and tour connectivity.

In the coming time, Quang Ninh will continue to step up promotional activities and organise a range of large-scale cultural and tourism events, including Ha Long Carnaval, heritage festivals and international promotion programmes. Thanks to a comprehensive and coordinated promotion strategy, the province is gradually affirming its position as a leading tourism destination in Viet Nam and the region.
