Quang Ninh unlocks heritage economy potential

Quang Ninh possesses a distinctive and valuable system of natural, cultural and historical heritage. To turn these values into resources for sustainable growth, the province is developing a project on the heritage economy, night-time tourism products and cultural industries through 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The new approach identifies heritage as the core resource, cultural industries as a driver of creativity, tourism as a channel for spreading values, and the night-time economy as a space for increasing consumption. Accordingly, the heritage economy development project clearly identifies key areas: Ha Long Bay–Bai Tu Long Bay will focus on high-end cruises and the water-based economy; Yen Tu will develop meditation-at-night, wellness and spiritual culture models; and the Tran Dynasty relic complex will be oriented towards becoming an archaeological park combined with historical experiences. By establishing a development model based on culture and innovation, Quang Ninh aims to become a regional centre for culture and the arts and a leading destination in the region for heritage tourism and the night-time economy.
