On August 24, in Lao Cai Province, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Le Van Anh attended the 12th Conference on Economic Corridor Cooperation among the five provinces and cities of Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh of Vietnam, and Yunnan Province of China.
At the conference, Vice Chairman Le Van Anh stressed that, to make cooperation more substantive and effective, Quang Ninh proposed strengthening connectivity in transport, logistics, trade, investment and tourism. In particular, Quang Ninh proposed that Yunnan coordinate research into the launch of a direct or charter air route between Kunming and Van Don; enhance the effectiveness of the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong–Ha Long–Van Don–Mong Cai expressway; and promote research into a standard-gauge Mong Cai–Ha Long–Hai Phong railway, gradually forming a rail corridor connecting Hekou–Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong–Ha Long–Mong Cai–Dongxing.
