The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 380/KH-UBND dated August 18, 2026, on organising a tourism stimulus week to celebrate the establishment of Quang Ninh city, alongside the 2026 autumn-winter tourism promotion campaign.
Under the communication theme “Quang Ninh City - Reaching New Heights with Heritage”, the programme will run from August through December 2026 across two distinct phases.
Phase 1 (August - September), will peak around the official announcement of Quang Ninh becoming a centrally governed city, alongside the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2026), and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2026).
The tourism stimulus week will run from August 24 to September 5 with a series of vibrant events. Highlights include the special art programme “Quang Ninh - A City Shining towards the Future”, expected to draw 100,000 spectators, together with a drone light show on the evening of August 28 at October 30 Square; and an artistic cruise ship light show on Ha Long Bay involving 50 - 100 vessels parading along the coastal route from August 26 to 28.
From August 28 to September 2, visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including 3D mapping projections at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center, a culinary experiences along Tran Quoc Nghien Street, shopping at the Quang Ninh Autumn-Winter OCOP Fair, street art performances, beach sports in Bai Chay and Tuan Chau, the Halo Bay Show, VuiFest Night Market, nightly artistic fireworks displays, the Yen Tu Ultra Trail...
Phase 2 (October – December) will focus on the peak celebrations for the province’s founding anniversary on October 30 and year-end festivals. Key events include the Yen Tu Autumn Festival, Binh Lieu Then Festival, Quang Ninh Culinary Festival, and a Quang Ninh–Guangxi culinary and cultural exchange.
