Within the framework of the provincial Sports Festival, the Chess Tournament kicked off this morning at the multi-purpose stadium at Dai Yen ward in Ha Long city.
The tournament attracts the participation of 73 athletes from 8 localities across the province.
Atheletes are competing in the category of fast chess at the moment. As planed, they will compete in the categroy of standard chess from April 22-24.
The tournament will wrap up on April 24.
Ha Long city’s delegation is now leading the medal table at the Provincial Sports Festival with 36 gold medals, 43 silver medals and 49 bronze medals, followed by Dong Trieu town and Quang Yen town.
