As part of the working programme for the second regular conference between Quang Ninh province of Vietnam and Fujian province of China, a Quang Ninh delegation led by Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Hong Duong visited Minjiang University and several tourist and cultural attractions in Fujian province, China.
Minjiang University is a comprehensive applied university offering programmes across eight disciplines: economics, law, literature, history, natural sciences, engineering, management and the arts.
The Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Duong noted Minjiang University in Fujian and Ha Long University in Quang Ninh share many similarities while each also possesses unique strengths. He expressed his hope that the two universities would expand exchanges and share expertise, and deepen practical and effective cooperation, particularly in lecturer and student exchanges and the training of high-quality human resources to meet evolving labour market demands.
The delegation also surveyed tourism activities at the SanFangQiXiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys ancient quarter), the most representative historical and cultural district in Fuzhou city, Fujian province. With its well-preserved street architecture and numerous ancient buildings, the area is one of Fujian province’s tourist attractions.
The delegation also visited the 3802 Museum, an exhibition showcasing Fujian province’s economic achievements, and Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO Site and widely known as “Piano Island”.
The Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Duong emphasised the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the two provinces should strengthen exchanges and share experience in heritage conservation and tourism destination management. He also called for the development of joint plans to enhance tourism promotion and marketing activities and cooperate in introducing interconnected tourism products.
