On May 19, the delegation of the Provincial Election Committee led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee, conducted an inspection of election preparation and Covid-19 prevention and control in Cam Pha city.
So far, the local election organising boards have been actively making comprehensive preparations to ensure that the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure will take place in a safe, open and transparent manner.
There are 174 polling stations across the city, of which 172 ones are located in residential groups and hamlets and 2 ones are at military and police bases. The total number of voters in the city is around 140,900, of which 3,330 voters are over 80 years old, 565 voters have turned 18 years old.
In the context of the complicated and unexpected developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the city has prepared detailed plans on facilities, human resources, equipment and medical supplies for Covid-19 prevention and control at each polling station.
Cam Pha has performed disinfection spraying at all polling stations and taken Covid-19 samples for 4,549 members of Steering Committees and election teams.
Paying a field trip to some polling stations, the Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee highlighted the great significance of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure and praised the preparatory work of Cam Pha regarding the structure of candidates, the resolution of complaints and denunciations, election communication, and determining and publicising the list of people eligible to vote.
Underlining the city’s socio-economic developing orientations, the Secretary reminded city leaders of the need for the contruction of a transparent, strong, effective and efficient local government in order to better serve people and businesses.
