Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky inspected pandemic prevention and production activities at Viet Hung Industrial Park

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky, paid a visit to HaLong city’s Viet Hung Industrial Park to supervise the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control measures and production activities.

Viet Hung Industrial Park is now home to 12 investment projects including 6 FDI projects and 6 domestic ones with a total registered capital of USD 85.46 million and USD 44.86 million, 7 second projects have been in production.

Specifically, the projects owned by Taiwan-based Vinh Trong Group have nearly 3,000 active employees, most of whom reside in Hoanh Bo, with a stable income of VND 8-9 million/person/month. These projects include garment projects of Weitai Company and Weili Company. The garment project of Weitai Company, with a total investment of 8 million USD, has been in production since June 2019 with an annual capacity of more than 300,000 shirts and 9.5 million handkerchiefs and hats. The garment project of Weili Company, with a total investment of 33 million USD, is in trial operation from August 15, 2021, estimated for stable production from November 1, with a capacity of 1.22 million products/year, associated with international giants such as Adidas, Stika and Carhart, and exported to international markets such as USA, Canada, Chile, EU, Korea.

The projects of Thanh Cong Group, particularly, such as the automotive infrastructure service center and the automobile factory are urgently under construction on a total area of ​​340ha.

According to the Management Board of Quang Ninh Economic Zone, export revenues earned by FDI enterprises and domestic ones reached respectively USD 154.68 million and VND 1,022 billion in the first six months of 2021. These companies have generated stable jobs for over 4,000 employees.

Businesses have strictly conformed to the provincial requirements and guidelines on building the process of pandemic prevention and control in the industrial park.

At Vinh Trong Group’s projects, all people entering and going out of the factory gates must have their body temperature checked, and scan QR codes. These factories have also undertaken regular cleaning and disinfection activities. Ventilation systems and surveillance cameras have been installed at important spots. At public kitchens, workers keep a distance of 1m or more, and they are separated while eating by barrier plates. Fixed workers have also been arranged according to the working shift, and 13 buses are being used to transport workers daily from home to the workplace. 70% of employees have been vaccinated with 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. The industrial park is maintaining proactive Covid-19 screening tests for 20% of employees every week.

The business representative also expressed gratitude for the support of Quang Ninh province. In particular, the province has implemented effective and timely measures in pandemic prevention and control, ensuring a safe environment so that businesses are able to not only stabilize manufacturing activities but also expand their production capacity.

During his visit, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Xuan Ky, highly appreciated the businesses’ rapid implementation of the pandemic prevention and control methods as well as their constant efforts to boost production with products that have international recognition and high economic value.
