On the construction site of Tien Yen - Mong Cai highway

After the accomplishment of 30-day-and-night land clearnace campaign, the project to contruct Tien Yen - Mong Cai highway has currently moved on the next phase named the 500-day-and night campaign for the completion of the project by the end of 2021.

All of the constructors have already signed the commitment and speeded up all relevant components to ensure the defined project progress despite the hot weather.

At the very beginning point of the route in Tien Yen district, workers accompanied by over 50 vehicles from Phuong Thanh contractor are implementing the construciton of culverts, tunnels and reinforcing soft soil foundation.

Tuan Nghia constructor starts on grades on the project area running through Hai Ha district. It is expected that this 4 - kilometer part will finish this construction phase within June.

All constructors are mobilizing sufficient labours and equipment to carry out excavation and embankment of the road foundation before the rainy season.

Along with road contruction, the progress of bridge construction projects has been speeded up. The biggest bridge, Ka Long 2, has 2 out of 2 abutments completed and 38 out of 66 girder slabs set in concrete.

An overpass is under constrution in Dam Ha district.

To ensure the progress, the casting of beams has been undertaken at the construction site, making it convenient for trasporting and installing.

The foundation of the road at the ending position connected with the bridge of Bac Luan II in Mong Cai city has been almost completed.

The highway of Tien Yen - Mong Cai highway is part of the Van Don – Mong Cai highway project invested under the investment form of public-private-partnership (PPP) and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT). Once completed, it will connect with the Hai Phong-Ha Long and Ha Long-Van Don highways, creating the longest highway in Vietnam that runs from the northwestern province of Lao Cai to Mong Cai via Hanoi and northern port city of Hai Phong.

Additionally, the highway will serve as an important transport gateway linking Vietnam and China and countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), helping connect Vietnamese northern localities with ASEAN and China, thus creating a momentum to bolster regional connectivity.

It will also create a complete “backbone” with a total length of nearly 200km, making it easier for the attraction of investment to promote marine economy, socio-economic development, tourism and international trade through Mong Cai border gate.
