On the occassion of upcoming Tet holiday, the representatives of Merdee Art Club (Ha Long High School for gifted students) on January 18 visited and presented gifts to underprivileged children at Quang Ninh Children's Social Protection Centre.
25 warm coats, 12 warm blankets, candies and various kinds of books and stories were presented to children in especially difficult circumstances.
The club members also warmly spoke to those children and encouraged them to study hard and lead a good life. Greeting cards with meaningful wishes for luck and heath written by Merdee-ers were also given to children on this day.
Merdee Art Club comprises 42 members studying at Ha Long High School for gifted students. According to Chu Man Chi, Merdee president, the club raised money for this charity program which covered the purchase of warm coats, blankets and candiesby selling li-xi (lucky) envelops designed by the club members. They would also carry out other activities to support children in difficult circumstances in the coming time.
This charity program was really helpful in inspiring and encouraging Merdee club members to participate in community service, especially joining hands to take care of disadvantaged and homeless children in the province to have a warm and joyful Tet.
