A series of events under the 2026 Luc Hon Golden Season Festival will take place from October 17 through the end of the year. With local culture at its heart and a wide variety of engaging, hands-on activities, the festival is expected not only to enhance the destination’s appeal during the autumn and winter seasons, but also to create more opportunities for local residents to take part in tourism, showcase local products, preserve cultural heritage and gradually build the “Luc Hon Golden Season” brand.
This year’s festival will feature a series of activities designed to give visitors more than just an opportunity to admire scenic landscapes, allowing them to experience the local community’s cultural traditions, livelihoods and daily life firsthand. As part of the festival, a variety of experiences will be held on a rotating basis weekend from October 17 to November 22, visitors can enjoy a rotating programme of experiences, including learning how the San Chi people make traditional banh day sticky rice cakes; trying their hand at embroidering traditional costumes of the Dao Thanh Phan and Dao Thanh Y ethnic groups; enjoying Then and Soong Co singing, folk songs and dances; joining local residents in rice harvesting; and taking part in the “Conquer Cao Xiem Peak – Camping to Welcome the Golden Season” trekking programme.
A major highlight of the festival will be the opening art programme on October 24. Through performances rich in ethnic cultural identity, the programme will tell the story of Luc Hon through its land, rice and people. On the occasion, the locality plans to launch a series of autumn and winter tourism activities, linking the art programme with hands-on experiences, culinary offerings and displays of local products.
Among them will be the Tay ethnic community’s “New Rice Celebration”, scheduled for October 25 at Luc Na Communal House and to be introduced throughout the festival. Alongside these activities, exhibition spaces will showcase OCOP-certified products, agricultural produce, local cuisine, regional specialities and handicrafts. These displays will not only promote local products, but also serve as a bridge connecting cooperatives, household businesses and artisans with visitors, enabling them to showcase product quality and seek opportunities to expand sales.

Accommodation establishments and homestays have made preparations to welcome visitors, from upgrading their facilities and improving service quality to preparing local dishes. Many households are also proactively developing experiences rooted in community life, giving visitors not only a place to stay but also opportunities to learn about local culture, enjoy traditional cuisine and experience the daily life of the community. These efforts are considered an important factor in encouraging longer stays, increasing visitor spending and gradually fostering a community-based tourism ecosystem associated with the golden season.
In the first nine months of 2026, Luc Hon Commune welcomed an estimated 73,020 visitor arrivals and is targeting 80,000 arrivals for the year as a whole. By diversifying visitor experiences, strengthening partnerships with tour operators and raising the destination’s profile across digital platforms, Luc Hon aims to attract more visitors and create greater market opportunities for local agricultural produce and other products. These efforts will help establish the “Luc Hon Golden Season” as a distinctive tourism product, contributing to the preservation and wider promotion of the cultural identities of local ethnic communities.
