On the morning of October 17, the Luc Hon Commune People’s Committee organised the 2026 trekking event “Conquering Cao Xiem Peak – Camping to Welcome the Golden Season” in the Cao Xiem pine forest area.
The event attracted nearly 700 athletes from 10 teams and formed part of Luc Hon Commune’s Golden Season Festival. The approximately 2.5-km route started in the Cao Xiem pine forest, passed through the Star Anise Forest, High Grass Hill and Cloud Hunting checkpoints, and finished at Cao Xiem Peak, 1,429 metres above sea level. The mountainous terrain tested participants’ endurance, determination and ability to tackle challenging trails. At the end of the competition, the organisers presented flags and medals to the best-performing teams and individuals.
The event was part of the commune’s efforts to diversify its tourism offerings and make effective use of its natural landscapes to develop sports tourism, ecotourism and experiential tourism. It also aims to establish Cao Xiem as an attractive destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers, while boosting tourism services, increasing local incomes and contributing to socio-economic development.
