On October 17, 2026, Luc Hon commune will organise the trekking sports event “Conquering Cao Xiem Peak - Camping in the Golden Season”, featuring a mountain route of around 2.5km from the Cao Xiem pine forest area to Cao Xiem Peak at an elevation of 1,429m.
According to the organisers, the trekking route starts from the Cao Xiem pine forest and passes through the Star Anise Forest, High Grass Hill and Cloud Hunting stations before reaching Cao Xiem Peak. The route is around 2.5km long and is expected to take 90-120 minutes to complete.
The journey will allow athletes and visitors to experience mountainous terrain, natural landscapes and scenic viewpoints along the route. The Cloud Hunting area, at an elevation of around 1,300m, is introduced as a vantage point for viewing seas of clouds and mountain scenery. Cao Xiem Peak is the highest point in Luc Hon commune, offering views over the surrounding mountainous landscape.
Visitors to Luc Hon Commune during this season can also enjoy the golden harvest, with terraced rice fields glowing amid the mountains and forests.
The event is expected to attract 200-300 athletes, visitors and trekking clubs from within and outside Quang Ninh City. In addition to trekking, the programme will also include camping, offering visitors another experience during their trip to Cao Xiem.
Beyond being a sporting activity, the programme will also help introduce the natural landscapes, culture and people of Luc Hon commune, while creating an additional tourism experience linked to ecotourism and exploration of the mountainous areas of northeastern Quang Ninh.
