On November 6-7, a famtrip involving more than 100 travel agencies explored tourism products and key destinations in Mong Cai 1 and Mong Cai 2 wards to assess local tourism potential, develop tour itineraries and strengthen links with domestic and international tourism markets.
As part of the programme, the delegation visited Tra Co Long Beach Hotel and Resort and explored destinations of historical, cultural and scenic significance, including Tra Co Communal House, Sa Vi Cape, the border belt, the Sa Vi Border Information and Communication Cluster, Mong Cai Golf Course and other popular tourist attractions in the area. Participants also experienced the “A day as a fisherman” programme on Tra Co Beach, gaining insights into local livelihoods, cultural traditions and the distinctive way of life of coastal communities.
In addition to assessing existing tourism products, the delegation explored opportunities to develop inter-regional tours and itineraries linking Mong Cai with attractive destinations across Viet Nam and extending routes to destinations in China. This approach offers considerable potential, enabling the city to capitalise on its strategic position as an international trade gateway, its transport infrastructure and opportunities for cross-border tourism cooperation among border localities.
