The shipment, valued at USD 2.4 million, is the first sale through the Bac Luan bridge's border gate 2 in Mong Cai city (Quang Ninh) as Tet enters the fifth day.
Bac Luan bridge border gate 2 in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province reopens for custom clearance on February 5 or the fifth day of Tet.
The first cargo included five containers with 26 tons of electronic components from LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd., located in Trang Due Industrial Park in Dinh Vu Economic Zone, An Duong District, Hai Phong City. It was the "first-footing" at the Bac Luan Bridge's border gate 2.
To encourage and congratulate the company's staff on a prosperous new year, Mong Cai municipal authorities presented flowers, wished Tet, and urged functional forces, businesses, and the Tan Dai Duong International Import-Export Joint Stock Company to perform their duties at the border gate in the event of clearing the lunar year's first shipment.
Previously, to alleviate congestion at the region's border gates, Mong Cai and Dongxing city (China) discussed adjusting the Lunar New Year holiday schedule in 2022, as well as customs clearing procedures at border gates and municipal openings.
As a result, foreign trade activities at Mong Cai city's border gates and openings continued till January 31. The door at Phao bridge Km3+4 Hai Yen in Mong Cai reopened officially on February 3 following the Tet holiday.
Between the reopening and 10 a.m. on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, 207 trucks transported 508 tons of commodities to China, including 383 tons of lobster, 104.4 tons of crabs, 14 tons of snails, 73.6 tons of clams, 25 tons of dried tea, and 3 tons of fresh fish. The consignments were swiftly moved to containers and examined at the inspection yard at Bac Luan Bridge 2.
