On Oct. 19, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation had a working session with Mong Duong Thermal Power Company's representatives regarding its production and commercial situations. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Ngo Hoang Ngan, chaired the meeting.
As reported by Mong Duong Thermal Power Company, the electricity output reached nearly 4.9 billion kWh at the end of September 2021, or 76% of the year plan. The company’s revenue was nearly VND 5,900 billion VND and this year’s total output is expected to reach nearly 6.5 billion kWh, equal to 100% of the assigned plan.
Regarding environmental protection, the company has so far completed the installation of the automatic system which monitors the exploitation of freshwater and the automatic environment monitoring system. Environmental protection projects for the soil and rock waste dump No. 2 have already been launched.
Speaking at the working session, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Ngo Hoang Ngan emphasized that Mong Duong Thermal Power Company is a large enterprise in terms of investment scale and job creation, making an important contribution to the provincial budget.
He asked the Department of Industry and Trade and relevant localities to provide the company with the most favorable conditions so that the plant are able to fulfill their 2021 output targets.
The Provincial National Assembly Delegation will consult with the Vietnam Coal-Mineral Industry Group and the Dong Bac Corporation in order to help the factory ensure a stable supply of coal for its operation.
The Standing Deputy Secretary also asked Mong Duong Thermal Power Company to apply new technologies in treating coal slag to reduce the areas of land required and elimiate negative impacts on the environment.
The company was also encouraged to pay much attention to the improvement of labours’ living standards, and work closely with local authorities to actively support poor households in the region.
