“Clean The Bay 2026” campaign: Joining hands for a greener Ha Long

On May 28, the “Clean The Bay 2026” environmental campaign was launched in Ha Long Bay with the participation of environmental organisations, tourism businesses and volunteers, contributing to the preservation of the World Natural Heritage site’s ecosystem.

The “Clean The Bay” campaign has been organised annually by Bhaya Cruises Co., Ltd. since 2017. This year, around 100 volunteers, including representatives of tourism businesses and visitors, joined waste collection activities at small beaches in the Ba Men Temple area using kayaks and small boats.

Before taking part in field activities, volunteers received guidance from the organisation “Keep Vietnam Clean” on waste identification, classification  as well as safety procedures during the clean-up process. Waste generated from aquaculture and fishing activities, such as foam buoys, nets and tarpaulins, was separately gathered and transferred to specialised treatment units.

After nearly a decade of organization, "Clean the Bay" has helped build the image of a greener Ha Long tourism destination.

Beyond environmental clean-up efforts, “Clean The Bay” also helps raise awareness of heritage conservation among the local communities and stakeholders in the tourism sector. The campaign also contributes to building the image of a green, sustainable and friendly destination.
