Agro-aquatic-forestry exports up nearly 27 pct in seven months

Viet Nam gained US$28.6 billion from exporting agricultural-aquatic-forestry products over the last seven months of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 26.7 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The total export and import value of farm products were estimated at US$53.2 billion in seven months. The trade surplus witnessed an increase of 25.8 percent against the same period last year, reaching US$3.9 billion.

Specifically, exports of agricultural, forestry, aquatic and livestock products hit US$12.2 billion, US$10.2 billion, US$4.9 billion and US$254 million, up 15 percent, 54 percent, 12 percent and 16 percent, respectively.

Over the period, Viet Nam’s farm product exported to Asia, America, Europe and Africa accounted for 42 percent, 31 percent, 11 percent and 2 percent, respectively.

The U.S. took the lead in importing Viet Nam’s farm produce with US$8.2 billion, making up nearly 29 percent, followed by China with US$5.5 billion, accounting for 19.2 percent and Japan with US$1.9 billion, making up 7 percent.
