In Hong Gai, some streets have accompanied generations of residents in the Mining Area. Cay Thap Street, Hang Noi Street, Nha Hat Street, Ben Doan Street... are familiar names that preserve traces of old Hong Gai amid today’s urban rhythm. Every morning, these streets awaken to the aromas drifting from long-standing local kitchens, the lively chatter of patrons, and the flow of people beginning a new day. Some enjoy slowly sipping a cup of coffee, while others choose a steaming plate of banh cuon served with squid cakes, a bowl of seafood noodles or a plate of bun cha fragrant with grilled pork to fuel themselves for the working day. Neither noisy nor elaborate, these street corners retain their simple charm. Local residents return as part of a familiar routine, while tourists come to experience the rhythm of everyday life, where each familiar dish tells a story about the land and people of Quang Ninh.
