Alongside coal mining and production, mineral extraction is another strength of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group. In particular, bauxite mining and alumina production in the Central Highlands not only contribute to increasing the value of mineral resources and developing the mineral industry, but also spread the Quang Ninh miners’ spirit of “Discipline and Solidarity” across Vietnam.
Since 2010, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group has invested in the Nhan Co Alumina Plant, operated by Dak Nong Aluminium Company in Lam Dong province. The ore beneficiation plant has a designed capacity of 1.65 million tonnes per year, while the alumina plant has a capacity of 650,000 tonnes annually. The project has helped shift the local economic structure from agriculture towards industry while fostering the development of service and supporting sectors. From the Quang Ninh Mining Area to the vast Central Highlands, the spirit of “Discipline and Solidarity” continues to drive Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group forward, helping the Group to overcome difficulties and expand production.
